Light and Color; two elements that have influenced my art for years in graphic design. Mood, focus, space, form, value all defined by them. These elements have a strong impact on my photography today. When I got into photography I decided to approach it differently than my contemporaries.

I incorporate much of my knowledge and skills from graphic design into my photography. I work under the theory that a camera is only interested in one thing, light. The only instances a camera is concerned with other elements is when light is introduced to it. In applying this theory I use a variety of tools and techniques in combination with long-exposure camera methods to manipulate and control light.

Unlike a standard photography method of capturing a moment in a flash, I seek to capture that same moment by stretching it out. Utilizing a combination of customized, compact and adaptable light sources in conjunction with adjustments in time I am able to remain untethered and free to flow around my subject. In essence, painting them with light!
